Report supports umbrella body for parent groups

THE Government should continue to fund an umbrella body for second-level parent groups rather than funding each organisation individually, a major review has recommended.

The review of State financial support for parental representation found the National Parents Council-Post Primary (NPC-PP) body had not been a success because of in-fighting.

The council is the official representative body on a number of statutory bodies.
