€190m bypass set for Clare

THE prospects of Fianna Fáil maintaining its 76-year domination of Clare County Council have received a second boost in as many days with the signing of the contract for the €190 million Ennis bypass, which will allow work on the project to finally commence next month.

The signing of the contract after a two-year delay coincides with the Health Minister Micheál Martin making a commitment to retain the A&E service at Ennis General Hospital.
