THE Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) and health boards nationwide have joined forces to improve food safety.

The FSAI and 10 health boards yesterday unveiled a plan to encourage the food industry to upgrade safety standards and help protect consumers from food illnesses.

The campaign is aiming to increase the number of food companies using the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) scheme.
