DES BISHOP’S mouth got him in trouble again yesterday when he was accused of outing RTÉ presenter Derek Mooney as gay, live on radio.

‘Outing’ of Mooney comment ‘unfortunate’

The Irish-American comedian was on Ray D’Arcy’s Today FM show when he made comments about the broadcaster.

Ray D’Arcy said the incident was “unfortunate” adding that he was sure “Derek would like to keep his private life private”. An RTÉ spokesman wouldn’t comment yesterday. Mr Bishop’s blip came about when D’Arcy asked him for an exclusive and the comedian said “I’m gay” before adding “I’m not, but hey”.
