CONCERNS over the provision of special education and the implementation of new curriculums at primary level have been highlighted in a major Department of Education report.

The department’s inspectorate used the findings from reports of 50 school inspections to provide a snapshot of management, staffing and other issues in the country’s 3,300 primary schools.

While the report, due to be published today, highlights many positive aspects of the primary education system, concerns are raised in a number of areas.
