Nice vote a chance to ‘show belief in Europe’

THE Nice Treaty referendum gave Irish people a chance to show their belief in Europe, the Taoiseach said yesterday.

Ireland remained committed to a Europe that was able to respond to global challenges in an effective way, Mr Ahern said.

To achieve the goal, Europe must have the ability and the will to develop strong economic and social policies, he said.
