Route 66 bike ride to raise funds for hospital

A MOTHER-OF-TWO is gearing up for a 2,448-mile motorcycle ride along America’s famous Route 66, in a fundraising drive for Temple Street Children’s Hospital in Dublin.

Caroline Howard, who comes from the village of Ballyhooly in north Cork, made a successful bid of €14,000 for the trip at a recent auction held by hospital fundraisers.

The money, which was generously put up for her by her cousin, Rory Tobin, will enable her to ride pillion passenger on a Harley-Davidson from Chicago to Los Angeles next month.
