MORE women will die violently in the home following a court ruling outlawing temporary barring orders, a leading women’s group has warned.

Only hours after yesterday's Supreme Court ruling that a spouse who is at risk will have to wait months before his or her partner can be barred from the family home, Women's Aid received a number of frantic calls from women whose husbands had attempted to move back into the home.

In one case, a woman phoned the gardaí after her husband entered the house, but she was told that they could not act until they had been given a directive from garda headquarters.
