Revenue likely to list Lowry among tax defaulters

FORMER minister Michael Lowry is likely to be included among tax defaulters named in the list published quarterly by the Revenue Commissioners, the Moriarty Tribunal heard yesterday.

He may also face a further tax bill on top of the €1.4 million already paid - if Revenue finds further funds are available in his refrigeration company.

Mr Lowry’s firm, Garuda Ltd, of Thurles, Co Tipperary paid €1.2m and the Independent TD paid €173,000 to meet his own personal tax liabilities.
