HOSPITAL consultants say they are anxious to right any wrong that may be found in a Competition Authority investigation into their relations with health insurance companies.

The authority has been examining all documents relating to consultants’ fee agreements with VHI, BUPA Ireland and other health insurers between January 2001 to June 2004.

Yesterday, IHCA general secretary Finbarr Fitzpatrick was questioned for two and a half hours by the authority on the documents. He is due to appear before it again on Thursday, October 28.
