TD hits out at drinks giant’s decision to raise cost of pint

FIANNA FÁIL TD Martin Brady yesterday accused drinks giant Diageo, which owns Guinness, of greed over its plan to raise the cost of a pint by four cent on May 1.

He added he will be raising the issue with the Director of Consumer Affairs.

“It smacks of greed and efforts must be taken to ensure drinkers are not being ripped off,” he said.
