ALL the major Dublin teaching hospitals are likely to experience job losses because budget shortfalls will force ward closures, union sources have warned.

Last night, the five Dublin Academic Teaching Hospitals (DATHs) refused to be drawn on the subject of redundancies.

In a joint statement with the ERHA a spokesperson for DATHs said they were "at an advanced stage in an agreed process to establish the levels of activity which the hospitals can commit to for the allocated funding this year".
