FAMILIES of elderly or disabled people have no option but to give up their jobs and struggle to care for relatives, a report published yesterday shows.

Services for more than 130,000 carers are delivered in such a fragmented way that the vast majority of people don’t even know where to turn to for information or help.

Carers need more support so they can juggle caring work with their jobs - and have a life outside the home, said the Supporting Carers report launched by the citizens information group, Comhairle, yesterday.
