Notorious Des O'Hare to leave jail

AFTER hacking off John O'Grady's two little fingers with a hammer and chisel, Dessie O'Hare had a spiritual awakening.

Consigned to a basement cell in Portlaoise Prison, he discovered loftier, more intellectual pursuits.

He took up yoga, eastern mysticism, history, psychology and metaphysics.
