Murder victim’s family wants her former employer prosecuted

The Dillons, from Glounthaune, Co Cork, want the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) to investigate safety practices at Jurys Inn in Limerick at the time of 24-year-old Gráinne’s killing. The former trainee manager at Jurys Inn was shot dead by Portuguese national Paulo Alexander Nascimento, aged 27, on January 5, 2002.

Nascimento, who had worked as a glass collector and night porter in Jurys for just six days prior to the murder, shot Ms Dillon in the breast, thigh and lower pelvic area after robbing €3,000 from the hotel.
