Childcare costs bars women’s work return

LACK of childcare places remains one of the greatest barriers to women going back to work.

The Government think-tank, the ESRI, questioned whether government targets for the provision of childcare could be reached.

The ESRI report showed that among women working in the home, those with children under five were significantly less likely to seek employment or go back into education or training than other groups.
