FORMER staff at an engineering plant, involved in a round-the-clock sit-in there for the past fortnight, have vowed they’re not going to give up.

Forty-five staff at the former Pierce Engineering plant in Wexford were made redundant a fortnight ago when they rejected compensation for a move to a new premises.

They also turned down a redundancy payments for some of their colleagues who would not be losing their jobs following the closure, but would be transferring to a new subsidiary, Pierce Pack.
