Health boss defends discharge of virus suspect

A HEALTH board boss has defended the decision to allow a woman suspected of having the SARS virus home from hospital in Waterford.

And he said the suspect case was handled extremely well.

There was no delay or breakdown in communication between the time the woman visited her GP and was admitted to hospital, South Eastern Health Board Chief Executive Pat McLoughlin said.
