Warning for publicans ahead of exam results

Warning for publicans ahead of exam results

The Drinks Industry Group of Ireland (Digi) chairman Richard Dunne called for the introduction of a national ID card, which he said would be the most effective way of stopping under-18s buying alcohol.

“Regretfully, the publication of Junior Certificate results can lead to a significant increase in the incidence of underage people trying to gain admission to bars and nightclubs or trying to buy alcohol from off-licences,” Mr Dunne said.
