Ministers given green light for project investments if savings made

FINANCE Minister Charlie McCreevy has told government ministers they will be rewarded if they make cost-savings in their budgets over the coming year.

As part of a series of measures to keep public spending under control, ministers will be able to plough savings made through efficient spending into other projects.
