FORMER Taoiseach John Bruton yesterday urged sports minister John O’Donoghue to investigate disproportionate increases in sport admission charges.

“In the last 12 months inflation has risen by only 1.3% but the price of admission tickets to sports events has increased by 13%,” the Fine Gael TD said.

“There must be some explanation for this extortionate ten-fold inflation increase in the amount charged by sporting organisations for admission to events,” he said.
