Non-national sexually assaulted by burglars

GARDAÍ were last night investigating an aggravated burglary in Cork in which armed raiders carried out a sexual attack on a woman before fleeing with a small amount of cash.

The search is continuing for three men who broke into an apartment on the outskirts of the city sometime before 7am on Sunday morning, where they are alleged to have sexually assaulted one of the occupants and beaten up two others.

The victims were later taken to hospital and one of them is reported to have suffered serious injuries. However, all three were later discharged.
