€50m package for disability services

A €50m package announced by the Government yesterday will provide about 175 emergency and 600 day places for people with disabilities.

The package includes an extra €15 million for services for people with intellectual disabilities and people with autism.

The funding will meet costs associated with emergency residential places and provide day services for young adults who have left school, and will improve health-related support services for children.
