Bikers give dead friend send-off

Father of two, Denis Ahern, aged 26 from Sycamore Heights, Patrickswell, Limerick was buried at Castlemungret Cemetery, after Mass in St Paul’s Church, Dooradoyle.

The driver of the car which Mr Ahern collided with remains in a critical condition at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital.

He has been named as Mortimer Stack, from Limerick, and is in his 40s.

A brother of Mr Ahern was travelling on another motorbike at the time of the fatal collision.

Gardaí have not ruled out the possibility that the accident happened when the two machines touched at Ballybrown, and went out of control.
