British rights group concerned over McKevitt trial

MICHAEL McKEVITT, the Real IRA leader jailed for 20 years, did not get a fair trial, an influential British human rights group has claimed.

Jane Winter of the British Irish Human Rights Watch said members of her group are willing to campaign on McKevitt's behalf, if he makes representations to them.

The group, which had a representative at the trial, believes the judge-only court is fundamentally flawed.
