Paper ‘was the business’ say satisfied students

STUDENT-FRIENDLY short questions with no twists or snags eased Junior Certificate students into what were very well received business studies papers yesterday.

Paper ‘was the business’ say satisfied students

Even the questions on budgets, the letter and banks were the business they agreed.

Both higher-level papers and the single ordinary-level exam got a definite 'thumbs up' from tired but satisfied students as they emerged from their exams across Waterford city.

Fifteen-year-old Kevin Molloy had plenty of time and was out early from the exam hall at the De la Salle College in Waterford city.

"It was very easy. We'd a good selection of questions. It was just what we expected. I'd gone through a lot of the pervious papers and was well prepared," the higher-level student said.

"There were no sticky bets. Even the tougher short questions gave a choice of answers making it even easier for us," said Kevin.

Classmate, David Hooban, who is just 14, breezed through the exam. He too was out about 10 minutes early.

"It was a grand paper. Everything we expected came up. The short questions were all fine and that eased us in," he said.

"I've just two more now, technical graphics and science. I'd be hoping for a B overall," he said.

Just down the road, the girls at the Ursuline Convent were also basking in the sunshine and very happy with their day's work. It was a long, tough day of two business papers.

But the marathon of papers were coming to an end and they were revelling in a long summer ahead.

"It was alright, simple enough. The short questions were hard enough. But the exam overall was fine. It was nothing too different to the old exam papers," said Sian Smith.

Lisa Meehan was also very happy and said she had plenty of time.

"It seemed to be a lot easier than last year. We'd plenty of time and plenty of choice. I'm very happy with my day's work," Lisa said.
