GARDAÍ in Cork city and county made a number of arrests relating to alcohol last weekend.

The “dry” Good Friday saw several drink-drivers get caught. Gardaí also blew time on one publican who had invited supporters in to watch a soccer match on Sky TV.

Several pubs were caught in Cork for late opening. One, in a village in west Cork, which senior gardaí refused to identify, was raided just a few minutes before 5am last Sunday with 50 people discovered inside.
