COMPULSORY driving lessons should be introduced to cut the high driving test failure rate, says the Automobile Association.

As figures revealed 46% of learner drivers failed their test last year, the AA said the ‘shambolic system’ needed to be reformed.

There are 358,845 drivers on provisional licences and 129,478 of them are waiting up to ten months to do the driving test.
