‘Death at two years of age a tragedy’

AN only child, two-year-old Róisín had undergone all the final preparations for surgery, when the operation was cancelled.

Her heartbroken parents, Gerard Ruddle and Helen Quaine, drove her home from Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin and arrived back at their Co Limerick home at about 8pm on Monday evening.

Within five hours Róisín became very ill and died in her parents’ arms.
