Vigilance urged over food supplies

FOOD premises, farmers and animal feed suppliers were warned yesterday to be vigilant of the food safety standards of their suppliers.

Vigilance urged over food supplies

The warning came as the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) revealed that 19 food premises have been closed due to breaches of food safety standards since January of this year.

The closures were ordered after environmental health officers found a likely grave and immediate danger to public health.
