Higgins warns more people face jail as bin protest continues

SOCIALIST Party TD Joe Higgins has warned that more people could be jailed as the fight against bin charges continues.

Mr Higgins, who pointed out that the bin charge protest had wider implications, is to raise the issue “in a very sharp way” in the Dáil today.

“I will be bringing the voice of people that has been completely ignored by the establishment into parliament,” said Mr Higgins, who has just completed a jail term for defying a High Court order against obstructing bin lorries.
