Irish workers third best paid in the EU

IRISH workers are among the best paid in the EU, but people working in hotels and restaurants experience the lowest pay levels in the State.

A new EU survey also reveals Irish people work more days per year than most other Europeans, while few Irish employees have the potential to top up their basic salary with bonuses.

There is also major gender disparity in pay rates with Irish women earning just 73.7% of men's salaries on average.
