Lorry driver quizzed over €3m cannabis haul

AN Irish lorry driver is being questioned by French police after customs officials seized 1.5 metric tons of cannabis resin in Le Perthus, near the border with Spain.

The seizure brought to 50 metric tons the total of marijuana derivatives seized this year, the French government said.

The drug’s value was estimated at over €3 million.
