THE Government has been accused of stalling the introduction of legislation that will give enforceable rights to people with intellectual disabilities.

Frank Conaty of the Galway Alliance of Parents and Carers (GAP) said it had been expected the Disability Bill would be published before the Dáil adjourned for the summer. But, he said, the Government was still dragging its feet on the issue.

The drafting of the Bill had been referred to a Cabinet sub-committee and is not now expected to be published until the autumn , he said.
