Call for action on science report

As Science Week Ireland begins, Association of Secondary Teachers Ireland acting general secretary John White called on Education Minister Mary Hanafin to make her department’s intentions clear on the recommendations of the Task Force on Physical Sciences.

The group called for all second-level schools to be provided with first-class labs and equipment. It also recommended the appointment of lab technicians to assist science teachers and the provision of other resources to make science subjects more appealing.
