Vinnie snatches chance to sell up for €1m

VINNIE JONES is back on the market but this time he’s not looking for a film role or a football club.

Vinnie snatches chance to sell up for €1m

The former hard man of English football is off-loading his luxury home in Kenmare, Co Kerry, for a cool 1m.

The property on the Castletownbere Road, eight miles outside Kenmare town, went on the market yesterday.

The four-bedroom house has impressive stone walls and high ceilings but parts of the interior are unfinished. The 2,755 sq ft single-storey structure has four bathrooms.

"This leaves the option to the purchaser to complete the interior to their own specific requirements," said a spokesperson for Remax Coastal Properties, the firm handling the sale.

The living room, dining room and master bedroom boast spectacular views of Kenmare Bay and there is a pebble beach in front of the house.

The film star is moving up the road after purchasing a 75-acre holding on the northern slopes of Kenmare Bay that cost almost €500,000.

Two years ago Mr Jones, 37, revealed he intended moving to Kenmare full-time.

The Watford-born actor, who has stared in movies such as Snatch and Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, moved to Kerry to spend time hunting and fishing.

He has travelled there

regularly to oversee the construction of his hideaway.

"Kenmare will be more my home than England. There is plenty of salmon fishing I have fished with Jack Charlton there. It's a lovely low and easy pace of life," he said.

Mr Jones is very happy in Kenmare but wants more land for his horses and dogs.

It's believed his new holding comes with an old farmhouse. He also owns homes in Hollywood and Hemel Hempstead.

The property will give the former Chelsea and Wimbledon star more privacy, say

locals.

He had planned to throw a huge house-warming party for locals and Hollywood stars when the house was completed, but the

champagne has been put on ice.

One-acre sites close to Mr Jones' house can be bought for €90,000 and houses in the area sell for more than €500,000.

The buyers of chez Jones will have millionaire Riverdance duo John McColgan and Moya Doherty as neighbours. They recently bought a €2m three-bedroom house, at Dawros Point, on the shoreline of Kenmare Bay.
