A HOSPITAL which yesterday admitted retaining the foetuses of 11 women denied any tests were carried out on the babies’ remains.

Management at Kerry General Hospital (KGH) in Tralee last night confirmed they had notified the women of the error which led to the storing of the miscarried foetuses in a hospital lab for almost three years.

The hospital also moved to reassure the 800 women treated at the hospital following a miscarriage during the period May 2001 to March 2004 that they had no cause for concern.
