A MAN and a woman were being treated in Kerry General Hospital, Tralee, yesterday, following a bizarre stabbing late on Thursday night.

The woman, in her 40s from the Tralee area, underwent emergency surgery and was reported as critical by a hospital spokesperson, though her condition was not believed to be life-threatening. The man, in his 60s, was less seriously injured and was in a stable condition.

The couple had been in a car parked on a quiet country road, close to the Kerry Bog Village. They had been seen together earlier on that evening.
