Open House closes its doors
Yesterday presenters Mary Kennedy and Marty Whelan bade a fond farewell to their viewers when they closed the door for the last time on the show.
“The Open House team would like to say thank you to our guests and contributors over the past six years.
“And we want to thank all of our loyal viewers who have tuned in to us every weekday afternoon over the past six years. Thank you and good bye to you all,” said Mary and Marty.
The show’s popularity was founded on its magazine format which delivered a busy mixture of chat, music and lifestyle items.
RTÉ has said that a replacement is yet to be confirmed and several options are being looked at.
The show attracted an audience of between 110,000 and 120,000 viewers each afternoon.
