A CALL for disruptive students to be taught separately will be made at the annual conference of the Teachers Union of Ireland (TUI) later this month.

The discipline problem in schools has been put high on the education agenda by TUI and their colleagues in the Association of Secondary Teachers Ireland (ASTI) in recent months.

A task force set up by Education Minister Mary Hanafin to examine the issue met for the first time last month and is due to report back by June.
