Republicans ‘impressed’ by improved police service

MANY republicans throughout Northern Ireland are quietly impressed with the new policing structures, the deputy chairman of the North’s Policing Board said yesterday.

Denis Bradley said the police service had improved so much since the establishment of the PSNI that many republicans were beginning to have faith in the new structures.

"The reality is that people who have been involved in the IRA going back into the 80s and 70s will tell you now that a police service is not alone needed but that the PSNI is actually doing quite well," he told RTÉ.
