The exact numbers which will be affected is extremely hard to predict, but parents will not know what the situation will be at their own children’s schools until classes have returned.

The Irish National Teachers Organisation warned last night that large numbers of staff in up to 30 primary schools could turn down the 37-an-hour deal when it is offered by their principals.
