Report argues for partial return of third-level fees

FAMILIES earning €100,000 a year could have faced college bills of thousands of euro a year under Education Minister Noel Dempsey’s failed fees plan.

His long-awaited review of grants and fees for third-level students, commissioned a year ago, is finally being published this morning.

Although the reintroduction of fees was shelved by the Government in May, the report makes strong arguments for partial reintroduction of fees.
