THE impact of a terrorist attack at Sellafield nuclear plant on Ireland is “unquantifiable”, a nuclear watchdog warned yesterday.

Following a visit to the Cumbria site in September 2004, the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland (RPII) said it will take 150 years to fully decommission the plant.

The RPII officials secured permission to revisit the plant following legal action by Ireland against Britain under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
