CANCER campaigners from across the South-East will be demanding a definitive answer from the Government on public radiotherapy for the region when they march on the Dáil this week.

Hundreds of people from the region will meet in Dublin’s Parnell Square at lunchtime on Thursday and then march on the Dáil. They will then present Tánaiste and Minister for Health, Mary Harney, with the 100,000 signatures they have collected, petitioning for a public radiotherapy unit at Waterford Regional Hospital.

“We’ve filled seven buses already and it looks like we will need an eighth,” said campaign chairman Dick Roche. “People are also travelling by car and we would expect others based in Dublin to join with us.
