PEOPLE all around Ireland took to the streets over the weekend to celebrate the expansion of the EU.

Thousands of people sampled what the 10 new EU accession countries had to offer at a colourful open-air market on Merrion Square in Dublin on Saturday.

Families and tourists crowded into the square at the back of Leinster House to savour food, drink and music from the new states.
