Man arrested over alleged rape of teen in city centre house

A FOREIGN national is being questioned by gardaí over the alleged rape of a teenage girl in Cork city.

The man, believed to be Lithuanian, was arrested after the 17-year-old claimed she was raped in a house near Barrack Street.

The alleged rape is said to have occurred shortly before 7pm on Monday and was described by gardaí as particularly nasty, although they declined to state what injuries she suffered.
