Gardaí ‘interrogating suspects in corridors’

GARDAÍ are interrogating suspects in corridors of police stations and in squad cars in order to avoid having to electronically record interviews, according to Professor Dermot Walsh.

He said garda cars needed to be fitted out with video equipment to protect the rights of citizens.

“I have concerns that police will use other avenues to avoid using interrogation rooms with electronic recording to interview suspects.
