Battered McBreartys bloodied but unbowed

Rosalind McBrearty tells of Donegal family’s nine-year nightmare, writes John Breslin.

ROSALIND McBrearty admits she has not had much formal education. It took her a year-and-a-half to compose a written plea to senior garda management to intervene in the nightmare that had engulfed the family.

She received a three-line letter in reply from the then Garda Commissioner Pat Byrne. His response was that the gardaí in Letterkenny would deal with the matter, according to Mrs McBrearty.
