Price of clothes below EU average

CONSUMERS fed up with “rip-off” prices yesterday got something they hadn’t bargained for - a survey showing the cost of clothing and footwear here is below the EU average.

Ireland emerged as only the 15th most expensive country for clothes and shoes in a survey of prices for such goods in 31 European states.

The official EU survey established that clothing and footwear prices in Ireland are 1% below the EU average. It also ranks Ireland as only the 12th costliest country for such items within the EU.
